azumahCelebrated Ghanaian boxer Azumah Nelson has been honored at the 55th WBC convention in Baka, Azerbaijan.

Nelson has presented an award to honor him for his selfless and enviable achievement in boxing.

The former Ghanaian boxer graced the podium by receiving massive applauds from invited guests at the event.

The 59-year-old former WBC featherweight Champion received a plague as a sign of honor.

Other award winners include former American Heavyweight Champion Evander Hollyfield, Bernard Hopkins, and Kostya Tszyu.

Azumah Nelson is undoubted Ghana and Africa’s greatest boxer having won three World titles.

The ex-combatant holds a rich record with 39 wins out of 47 fights, 28 of the wins coming by way of knockouts, 2 draws and just 6 losses.

He held the WBC featherweight title once and the WBC super featherweight title twice.

This becomes the second recognized international honorary award received by the veteran boxer after being named the Ring Magazine Upset of the Year which was previously held by ex-American boxer Mike Tyson.
